SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Everything you need to know before sending a pitch to Kindplay Foundation's publishing arm.
What we're looking for
Original comics — one-shots, ongoing series, graphic novels, anthology pitches, webcomics — that advance compassion, mindfulness, or mental health. Genre is wide open: literary drama, sci-fi, YA, kids, horror, comedy, memoir. The values need to land, not the genre.
What to include
- Your name, contact, and role (writer / artist / team)
- Project title and format (one-shot, ongoing, graphic novel, anthology, webcomic)
- Logline (1–2 sentences)
- Pitch / synopsis (a paragraph or three)
- A short note on how the story connects to compassion, mindfulness, or mental health
- Estimated page count and completion state (pitch / partial script / complete)
- Target audience and 2–3 comparable titles
- Previous publications (if any) and co-creator credits
- Sample pages or pitch deck (see below)
Sample pages & files
- Formats: PDF, PNG, JPG, or ZIP
- Size limit: 25 MB per file
- Sweet spot: 5–8 sample pages plus your pitch — don't send a full issue
- If your work is a script only, send the first 10 pages
Rights & NDA
You must own the rights to what you submit (or have permission to submit it). We ask every creator to e-sign a short Non-Disclosure Agreement that gives us a non-exclusive 90-day review window. You keep everything else. You'll get a signed PDF copy of the NDA for your records.
Review timeline
We read every submission that meets these guidelines. Reviews go out in batches, usually within 8–12 weeks. If you create an account before submitting, you can track status and message our editors from your submissions portal.
What we can't take
- Gratuitous cruelty or hopeless nihilism as the point of the story
- Work that mocks mental health or people managing it
- Fan fiction of properties you don't own
- Simultaneous submissions to competing publishers (please tell us if you're shopping it)
